How do I edit information that is already in a drop down menu?

I know that the information placed in a drop down is automatically saved. However, I have some typoes and mis-placed entries that I would like to remove from the lists.

You can change behaviour of these list and their contents through Tools -> Prefs -> Drop down lists.
If you set to use values of the catalog instead of a predefined list, the list is reset when the file is reopened.
