[Linux] Problem with 3.5* and wine

Version 3.4.3 works fine in Linux with wine, but I've noticed in 3.5* versions gui doesn't render well. Is there something you can do to "fix" this problem, antp?

Thanx in advance and congratulations for AMC and all your software :)

Depends what you mean by "doesn't render well" :D
If it is a problem related to the component that I use for menus & toolbars I am not sure I can do anything except stop using it... which is not a very good solution for me :D

hehehe... ok, I'll try to explain it (my English is not good enough). Toolbar, menu bar and other parts of the gui become transparent, fonts disappear, and you have to pass the mouse through to "restore" it.
So I'm afraid there's no a "good solution" :( It's a pitty since I can't live without AMC and I intend not to use MS Windows anymore

It is really annoying when using the program? Which parts other than the toobar/menu have this problem?

It's annoying, not REALLY annoying, but annoying
Which parts other than the toobar/menu have this problem?
Image toolbar, status bar and buttons for scrolling up and down and spreading lists... if I select a text and click right button, contextual menu doesn't appear unless I pass the mouse through the area where is supposed to be (and, in fact, is): this is specially annoying.

Can I send you an e-mail with some screenshots?

PD: sometimes it crashes too, but not so often.

You can post the screenshots here using www.imageshack.us ;)
Maybe I could try to compile a version that does not use XP themes at all, since it was one of the changes since version 3.4.3 (a better support of XP themes).

It would be very considerate towards us, linux users ;)

It is strange that the fields are wronly aligned :??: Maybe it is because I changed the default font. I'll try to recompile a version with few changes this evening or tomorrow, it will be quick.

If you enable the "XP style" in the Preferences, do the menus/toolbar appear better?

Here is a version with disabled XP styles, disabled TBX toolbar themes, disabled "MS Shell Dlg 2" font.
ftp://ftp2.antp.be/antp/software/temp/a ... -theme.zip
I hope that it will run better.

It runs worse. I'm sorry you have took all this troubles. I'll try to work with v. 3.0.5 with XP style enabled. Thanks for all, Antoine ;)

I made again some changes, I reuploaded the file at the same location.
I saw that all toolbars/menus are using the color "None" which seems to really be "no color" in WinE :D (in Win32 I guess it was used for "parent color").
I forced it to the "button" color (i.e. the grey used on usual toolbars & buttons).

That's strange that it still does not work. There were not so many changes since version 3.4.3 :/

I use AMC 3.5 with latest wine-version under suse linux 9.2 (kernel 2.6.9) x-org and KDE 3.4

no problems anyway - maybe your wine-version is too old ?

suggestion to the author of AMC: a html-view would make AMC the top app ;)
