Well it is a very minor update, I do not know if there will be big updates very soon, it may take years before I continue to work on it, but it may be in few months (unlikely, but who knows).
Anyway, the source code of Movie Cat must have been published somewhere, since it must be under GPL like what AMC was (and do not need approval, for the same reason).
Advantage of AMC against derivate version is that even if I do not add features I will continue to give at least basic support for the program (i.e. this forum, fix important bugs, hosting script updates on my server, and sometime update the install for new scripts).
One thing that I really MUST do is make the program perfectly compatible with Vista. I am ashamed that I still haven't done that, since I know exactly what to do for that: I did that at work last summer for various programs...

When you should do this some time, I'd be very interested on a short note where you did changes, so that it is easier to find them on your source and maybe add them to Game Catalog source, too

Sure. Basically there aren't many things to change, just default location of folders for scripts, templates, settings, ...

Script who use "FieldDisks" don't recognize it. Perhaps you have change the name of this Field?
Goods modifications of the already good soft.

actually that was more of an assumption from my side

and ant was just updated a day or so ago

so yes i was wrong

lol but i guess
you'd need tik's approval and source code...hard to get since he's gone
I can confirm, i mailed him 3 monthes ago because would have been especially interested in his "Gui Designer" source. No answer at all.

Yeah, I noticed that too! Its a real bummer, but it seems that there´s just a small typo: FieldDiss it states instead of FieldDisks. Could someoone solve this? I tried with delphi, but i had no luck. Have no source files of moviecat 4 beta 6

Note: As far as I know the source code of movie cat has never been released somewhere, although the different versions of the program are still available from Tikonderoga's website. When I asked Alex for some sources (because of the "stars rating") a year ago, I only received the two files main.dfm and main.pas. From what I see on his forum/block, he does not answer questions or give program related information anymore, but I just tried to contact him on his gmail account and asked for the full sources. I'll let you know if there should be any information (but I don' think so).

That´s too bad, I even think of returning to amc 3.5.1.2, but I already started using the version-field, and that´s not available in amc. Also one of my own designs stays small in 3.5.1.2 instead of maximizing like in movie cat 4. But having the fielddisks is needed for a lot of scripts...

PS: too bad there´s no source code, that should be really in the style of amc.

are you gonna add the stars rating to amc or to a mod? it would only be fair if he gave the source code imo

I use different code for stars on Sisimizi Game Catalog.

oh ok

if i want to add those stars to amc i would have to use delphi and use the source code from Tikonderoga?

Well, at least it is possible to add or use code from his sources, but it still might be a challenge for beginners
If you want to do changes on AMC sources, you should install Delphi and all the additional components needed and then try to compile default AMC sources. When this works well, you can play around to see what is possible, before you try to add other code.

Legally, it should be. One can't distribute a mod of AMC without also providing the sources.

I emailed Tikonderoga about the problem with FieldDisks. I hope he will fix it fast or provide the sourcecode.

I just notice that he logged back onto his forum and deleted most of the posts there. Probably because of all the spam? Maybe he'll start working on movie cat again or give the source code.
