New version 3.0.0 beta released:

IMPORTANT: This release needs Ant Movie Catalog Version 3.5.1 rc2 or a newer version ( see viewtopic.php?t=3325 ) ! It will NOT work on version 3.5.0 or older versions that you might have downloaded from website !

- new function: autodetection now should work on Windows 95/98/Me/2000/XP/Vista™
- new function: 'autoupdate mode' to download ALL script updates and ALL new scripts on a single run
- new function: summary of downloaded scripts at the end of update process (to see the summary, be sure that you have chosen only ONE film when starting the script)

I fixed a bug concerning the 'show_AMC_message' option (I forgot to add the 'TextBefore' function, but used it for this option). Download fixed version from link above.

This version will (hopefully) not affect users of AMC 3.5.1 but gives full support and all new features of latest update script for users of previous AMC 3.5.0.x versions - they now can use things like the full automatic update of all scripts and a list of updated scripts at the end of update process.

If you like you can test the new version (on both versions of AMC) and if you find any bugs please let me know. I'll do some more testing this evening. If no more bugs will be found, this version should be released as full version 4.0.0 soon.

Edit: There's still a small bug - on 3.5.0 some scripts appear on list again after being updated. I'll fix this tonight.

If you are using a previous version of update_scripts.ifs with option 'autodetect_new_scripts' set, new script will be installed as soon as it is available from update server.

I am getting script errors, if in auto mode it comes up with a script error & in select mode it just has a list of file saying update in brackets (update)

This is because of a code change on update website. Will be fixed as soon as possible (at least I hope so). Thanks for your report

If you use script option "autodetect_new_scripts" it will be downloaded and installed automatically.

Thanks for the quick response, It works in manual mode now but still has a script error in both auto modes.

" DirList.Text := ListDirectory(dirScripts, '*.*')" is the highlighted line of script with the error line "294".

Could you please post the complete error message that shows up when you run the script in automatic mode ?

I do not have this error and there is no "DirList.Text := ListDirectory(dirScripts, '*.*')" on line 294 - only if you copy/paste the script into the AMC script editor instead of downloading and saving the file. But even in this case it works for me, so it's a little bit weired. Maybe the error message tells us what's going on..

ListDirectory is a function on the script engine of AMC (since 3.5.1) that is used by the update script. Seems your moviecatalog.exe got corrupted somehow, so an update of the program did help in this case.

I wonder what could have hapened... Or maybe he was using a beta version which did not yet had that function
(as there were betas for long time for the 3.5.1, for fixing Vista-related bugs)

But that can't be checked by script using CheckVersion, I guess ?

Indeed, as the version number was the same.
It is usually not a problem since not many people use beta version, and quickly upgrade it when the new one is released.
But the 3.5.1 was a special case since it was required to work well on Vista and that it took long time before I release it officially

It is possible it was a beta version , I like everyone else who swapped over to Vista, quickly realised we needed to update our AntDB & I have a memmory of grabbing the beta, Recently I had a HDD failure & reinstalled all my favourite programs (AntDB being one) & may have installed the beta from a back up. Once again I cant thank you guys enough for your help & great program. Everyone I know has AntDB on their PC's as I spread the good word.
