beta5 taking 100% processor time

Hi,
yesterday I was working with AMC and I was adding things here and there to my database. When I tried to group movies with 'checked', AMC 'freezed' and took 100% processor time. However I could not reproduce problem and it only occured once. So I know, there's pretty much nothing you can do about it
Just letting you know. Could be just my computer, but if anyone else has seen the same thing, he/she could report it here.

Hi Antoine, long time no see, I've seen you've made remarkable progress ! Thanks for the new improved version
I've just began to test it and fix the existing scripts to my needs...
so I'll need your help
- Scripting engine can now use external files : when you put a unit name in the "uses" of a script (.ifs file) it will search for a file named like this unit and having a .pas or .ifs extension
this is very helpfull and it will help a lot, but I'll need some explanations:
does this mean you can call and run a script from within a script?
[if so:
1) how does one call and run a whole program?
2) what about the options of the .ifs you call from within the running one?]
- or is it only for functions?

Same here with RC1. AMC get freezed with 100% CPU time.
But i can reproduce the problem
, it happens every time i group movies with:
"Media type",
"Data added",
"Rating",
"Director",
"Producer",
"Year",
"Length",
"Video Format",
"Video Bitrate",
"Audio Format",
"Audio Bitrate",
"Resolution",
"Framerate",
"Languages",
"File sizes" or
"Number of disks"
Anyone with the same problem?
Greetings.

I already had this problem, I thought I corrected it.
It probably happens while comparing values to order the list.
I'll try to correct that quickly, since it is quite annoying I guess
In the Preferences, in "Movies list" page, which of these checkboxes are enabled ?
- do not make a group for ... alone in group
- put these movies ...
- put movies with empty values ...
?

You can not run another program but only call its functions.
The options will be those of the current script, so if you use functions of another script you have to redefine its options in your own script.

I have all of the checkboxes enabled in the Movies List page.

I've been testing the diferent checkboxes and grouping by year works ok when the checkbox 'Put these movies in a special common group' is not marked (with rest of checkboxes marked).
And grouping by 'media type' works ok when the checkbox 'Put movies with empty values in a special common group' is not marked (with the rest of checkboxes marked).

The problem does not comes back with my list
It would be nice if you could reproduce it with a small list (or try to save your list to xml and click "ignore" when it asks to convert pictures, then try with this file) and send me a list that crashes all the time. I guess it is a special cases that I forgot to check.

I guess you are using a translation other than one of the two that come with the program (english/french)

i 'e installed antmc in a new directory (ANT 3.5), then updated it with RC1.
It gives me a serie of errors (unable to assgn value for mainwindow.....) and value is written in italian.
what does it mean?
ah, i tried to enter into preferences but hundreds of similar popup error messages appear so impossible to change (or analyze) anything.
it didnt appear with 3.5 beta, only now with RC1

it means that you've not read all what's written in fist post and that you've not read the last posts of this topic and that you are using an italian translation of version 3.4.3

RC2 is available.
It corrects the annoying bug of infinite loop when grouping on some fields and inverting the sort order.
I hope it solves the bug for everybody. If you still have this problem and can reproduce it, it interests me.
I also added an item labelled "all" in the drop-down lists of the search window.
