Increasing size font in template

Post by myska »

Hi,

I changed an existing template that I really like so that it can fit my needs but despite several attempts I can't change the size font. I would like it to be much bigger.

This is the script I already revised to remove some useless information:

<html><head>
<META NAME="DESCRIPTION" CONTENT="Basic Template based on default HTML-Template, but more colorfull.">
<META NAME="DESCRIPTION" CONTENT="v1.0 - 26.11.2012 by J">
<style TYPE="text/css">
body {margin:0em; padding:10px}
div,th,td {font-size:13pt; font-family:Arial}
div.header {font-size:30pt; font-weight:bold; text-align:center; color:white; padding:40px}
div.h2 {font-size:12pt; font-style: italic; text-align:center; color:white; margin-bottom:14px; margin-top:-10px}
table.daten {width:100%; height:581px; overflow:hidden}
tr {vertical-align:top; padding:0px}
td.bild {padding:4px}
td.wh {color:#C0C0C0; line-height:1.5; padding-left:5px}
td.gr {width:150px; padding-left:5px; color:#07A7BF; font-weight:bold; line-height:1.5}
span {background:$$ITEM_COLORHTML; border:solid; border-width:1px; border-color:gray}
</style></head><body background="BlueBasic.gif">
<div class="header">$$ITEM_FORMATTEDTITLE</div>

<table class="daten" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="5">
<colgroup>
<col width="408">
<col width="30%">
<col width="50%">
</colgroup>
<tr>
<td class="bild"><img src="$$ITEM_PICTUREFILENAME" width="400"></td>
<td>
<table>
<tr>
<td class="gr">$$LABEL_COUNTRY</td>
<td class="wh">$$ITEM_COUNTRY</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="gr">$$LABEL_YEAR</td>
<td class="wh">$$ITEM_YEAR</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="gr">$$LABEL_LENGTH</td>
<td class="wh">$$ITEM_LENGTH min</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="gr">$$LABEL_CATEGORY</td>
<td class="wh">$$ITEM_CATEGORY</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="gr">$$LABEL_DIRECTOR</td>
<td class="wh">$$ITEM_DIRECTOR</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="gr">$$LABEL_DATEADD</td>
<td class="wh">$$ITEM_DATEADD</td>
</tr>
</table>
</td>
<td>
<table>
<tr>
<td class="gr" width="100%">$$LABEL_ACTORS</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="wh">$$ITEM_ACTORS</td>
</tr>
</table>
</td>
</tr>
</table>
<table border="0" cellspacing="5" cellpadding="0" width="100%">
<th></th>
<tr>
<td class="gr">$$LABEL_DESCRIPTION:</td>
<td class="wh">$$ITEM_DESCRIPTION</td>
</tr>
<tr></tr>
</table>
</body></html>

There might be some errors in this template due to my beginner level in this program new to me.

Sorry for my english. Thanks in advance for your help.

hi myska,

the font size is defined in the css part. You messed up the script a bit.

line
div,th,td {font-size:13pt; font-family:Arial}
is wrong. Change to
td {font-size:20pt; font-family:Arial}

this means everything between <td> and </td> is shown in 20pt Arial font.
You can change the size by changing 13pt to 20pt or 24pt or ...

Hi J, thank you for your reply but unfortunately I just realised that I made a mistake about the script and I posted the wrong one.

Here is the right one (originally from Yael but I cut out a lot of parts). The only thing I need is to enlarge font so that I can read it on my tv:

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">

Sorry for the confusion.

Could you identify the part of this script related to font size? It is nothing to do with the previous one where it was quite easy to change this.

sure.
insert the three blue lines between <meta... and </head> so that it looks like

<meta content="Eyael" name="author">
<style TYPE="text/css">
td {font-size:20pt; font-family:Arial}
</style>

</head>

If your TV can make use of CSS you can change the size as said before by changing the 20pt to 18pt or 24pt or..

Thank you for your prompt reply and your help. It does change something in my template but not as expected. Look at the result on "movie duration", it's partially hidden:

well, it looks like you also use a style definition file named "video.css" for formatting clases etc.
Perhaps within this document there is a particular definition of the font size for every different class. The cut of text in your picture looks like there is a defined height for the text area or there is a "space overlay" on top.

you can try to delete line 184-187:
<tr>
<td colspan="2" rowspan="1" style="vertical-align: top; text-align: left;">
<img alt="" src="space.gif" height="7" width="340"></td>
</tr>

which is after
<span class="info">$$ITEM_LENGTH minutes
</span></td>

and try to delete this as well (line 193-209)
<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%">
<tbody>
<tr>
<td align="left" nowrap="nowrap" valign="middle">

</tr>
<tr>
<td align="left" valign="top">
<img alt="" src="space.gif" height="15" width="340"></td>
</tr>

<tr>
<td align="undefined" valign="undefined">
<img alt="" src="space.gif" height="35" width="35"> </td>
</tr>
</tbody>
</table>

Did the addition of the three lines a change of font size or is it same size as before? In your picture the text still looks a bit small.

Perhaps you can post the video.css file too or tell me where you´ve got it from.

Yes, there also was a file "video.css" where it is possible to change the font sizes.
I'm going to make some changes until it looks right.

Thanks again for your help! :-)
