Don't rate unseen movies and leave this field empty. Sorting by "rating" will result in a list of unrated movies saying <none> (or rate all of them "0" and even your worst flicks have to be rated at least "1"). This is how I do it and you don't even need an additional field (or have to misuse ...

@ igorx: if you are missing this feature or if you have issues sorting your stuff just add zeros to fill missing digits. Works fine in every application and with files in any kind of explorer.

E.g.: 0001 instead of 1 (max of 9999 items then); 01-01 instead of 1-1

Via csv export you can edit the ...

Perfect, that's exactly what I needed! Now my books are in "last name, first name order", even double-barrelled names work if hyphenated...

Thanks a lot!!!

Wow, that's swift...
The script does almost what I was looking for! I've no clue what the rest of the post said - I hardly speak French - so, if there were any explanations I didn't get them.
If I got the script right (I can only look and guess what those fancy commands may mean) it defines items ...

[REQ] Quentin Tarantino --> Tarantino, Quentin Script

Hi,

I'm looking for a Script that converts a field in the following way:

[first part] space [last part] ---> [last part] comma [first part]
or in words: Quentin Tarantino --> Tarantino, Quentin

AND if possible

move last part to first position, divide it by a comma and put the rest after it, eg ...

I don't know if it helps, but I do a lot of work on my movie list in Excel. It can mark and erase duplicates... just merge several CSVs, sort, mark/delete and reimport into AMC - voilà!

I'm not quite sure what you mean, if you're talking about problems with special characters - I don't have any, printing looked awkward all the time with all characters.

Finally I solved the problem with a crowbar and deleted everything (AMC, all files, entries...) and reinstalled it. Now printing ...

The virtual printer is called "PDF Creator" (http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator) and the real one is a Canon machine set as default...

I know that PDF virtual prints may be jammed sometimes, but with a real one I never had such an issue in any other program.

Another weird thing is that ...

I don't know if it is of any help for you, but I group movies by Media Label , e.g. I have all Alien movies with the same Media Label ("Alien"). But still everything else has to be entered individually, this is why I usually add one entry for the whole box set (with all shared values) and than I ...

Printing issues

Hi everybody,

whenever I want to print movie lists some words look very strange, the letters are one on top of another or there are spaces where they don't belong. .. this happens when printing with a real printer or with a (virtual) PDF printer. If I copy and paste those jammed words (from the ...

By rename I thought about a translation (author - Autor,...) or the the volume - edition twist. As far as I know a script works with the left side of the "=", my changes affect the right side.

About the names - I feared that, I saw the same problem you mentioned... so it remains cut & paste.

OK - then ISBNs remain...

I'll give the translation a shot as soon as I find the time for it. And a German translation is in progress (does it matter for the script if I rename fields? I guess not... but tell me if it does)

As soon as I'm finished you will find the translation in this threat ...

- Volumes

let me know which option is the easiest to implement...

Awesome piece of work! Fantastic, I enter ISBN, most fields get filled, thank you so very much - this is a tailor-made DB solution by now!

Your's gratefully

Here it is! Great! The options look promising, just like what I was looking for.

Unfortunately AMC thinks it's erroneous, I get
Script error in "AMAZONBOOKS": unit is not found at line 11

Whatever that means, it says
StringUtils1;
there, I guess that's not a unit...

However, it's a beta ...

Amazon doesn't provide all the infos one may want to have, so - if something is not to be found there I have to type it (and not every field is important). Actually I have no idea what this Amazon API provides, but the HTML version and programs like BookCat (uses Amazon via ISBN as import ...

I didn't realy get if you're looking for a language MOD (AMC's fields are renamed, and you said "conversion language", sounds like a MOD for me), you'll find something e.g. here:

Hi there, this is a simple MOD to use AMC for books. This is a first release, it may not be perfect. If you want to change / update / improve or have suggestions I'd be very pleased if you tell me...

Please note: this MOD may need some changes but it works (ok, some fileds are not properly ...
